Mister Peepers, starring Wally Cox (Underdog) and Tony Randall (TV's The Odd Couple), follows the story of shy, warm-hearted Jefferson Junior High science teacher Robinson Peepers (Cox) and all of his hijinks with his more boisterous best friend and fellow teacher Harvey Weskitt (Randall). An everyday hero in the crazy world of junior high, Mister Peepers consistently proves good guys do finish first. The series was originally broadcast on NBC from 1952 to 1955, won a Peabody Award in its debut season and earned Emmy nominations for lead actor, supporting actor, supporting actress, writing and Best Situation Comedy.
Matthew Golden, Luken’s Vice President of Production, said “We’re thrilled to add yet another award-winning classic series to our Retro family. Wally Cox is the latest in the long line of comedy heroes to join the Retro TV ranks, and we couldn’t be happier to return this classic character to the airwaves.”
Mister Peepers will debut on Retro TV later this year joining other newcomers like The Barbara Stanwyck Show on the Retro TV schedule.
With an assortment of vintage comedies like The Lucy Show and The Joey Bishop Show as well as classic dramas including Route 66, Bonanza and One Step Beyond, Retro TV offers The Best in Classic Television. Retro TV’s newest acquisitions, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Doctor Who and The Doctors launched in 2014 to overwhelming response.
